Yuletide: Dear Author Letter
Hello there, mystery creator!
I've gotten really long-winded in my exchange letters, so I'll try and reel this one in. First, thank you so much for writing for me! I love all the series I've requested from a great deal, and I'm glad we've connected on one of these fandoms. I'm sure whatever you write will be lovely, so I'd just like to use this space to talk about things I generally like and dislike to see in stories, and give some little scenario suggestions in case you'd like a place to start.
As far as things I love in fic go, I adore stories with thoughtful characterization, good pacing, strong worldbuilding. I love examinations of friendship and the ways people depend on each other. I love competition and rivalry in relationships, and seeing characters challenge each other. I like seeing tropes inverted or played with in unexpected ways. I like touches of humor, in prose that's otherwise more sober.
When it comes to things I'd like to avoid, I'm not big on angst. I can happily read things about characters making tough choices or being in untenable situations, but I just really dislike tragedy for tragedy's sake, or anything really over-the-top horrible. I'd appreciate if you also avoid any content to do with rape, abuse, terminal or mental illnesses, or homophobia as a plot device. I'd also prefer not to receive anything with pregnancy or child-rearing, or foot fetishes.
With those unpleasantries out of the way, my fandoms.
Yowamushi Pedal
Canon-wise, I'm current on the anime and on the manga scans at this point in time, and intend to keep up with grande road and further chapters as those things are made available. Feel free to reference anything in that range of the canon, but please no spoilers for untranslated Japanese manga chapters.
With these three characters, I love seeing the ways Fukutomi and Kinjou are similar but vitally different -- I love Kinjou's social fluency and clever, well-meaning manipulation, I love how direct Fukutomi is, earnest almost to the point of awkwardness, and I love how Arakita is textbook tsundere, how he will complain and mouth off but is unerringly loyal and capable of so much hard work when he thinks it's earned.
My desires with this fandom are twofold -- future-canon college adventures or breathtaking AUs. Some little prompt suggestions:
-Juggling long-distance between Meisou and Yonan.
-Kinjou and Arakita visiting at Meisou or Fukutomi visiting at Yonan.
-Sweet domestic cohabitation adventures re: Kinjou and Arakita getting their first apartment(s).
-The intricacies of three-person poly dates, especially while balancing their personalities.
-FANTASTICAL AUS: second world fantasy with Kinjou as a literal magician, Fukutomi as a literal king, Arakita in any role indispensable to either/both of them, anything along that vein.
-CRIME AUS: crime boss Kinjou, rival crime lords Kinjou and Fukutomi, one of them as a kingpin and the other as a detective on the case to bring him down. Arakita as a right-hand man to either of them.
-VARIOUS OTHER AUS: Hogwarts, Pacific Rim (two of them as copilots until one is injured and the third becomes the new copilot? break my heart a little?), urban fantasy, space-opera tier sci-fi, any of this will make my day.
Daiya no A
Canon-wise, I'm anime only, and would prefer not to receive manga spoilers. I intend to read the manga, but likely won't have the chance until after yuletide. Avoiding anything that's directly a spoiler for this canon may be the best way to go.
With this fandom, I'm specifically interested in the interpersonal dynamics between Miyuki, Furuya, and Eijun. OT3 is my goal, but something more platonic will also serve in a pinch -- I mostly want to see the ways in which Miyuki interacting with Eijun differs from with Furuya, and they with him versus with each other. I'd prefer canon-compliant to AU with this one. If you're pornographically inclined, so am I -- I really dig D/s, especially clever dom Miyuki. Enthusiastic consent and marathon sex/testing endurance are also nice pluses.
If you aren't feeling something shippy and would rather go a platonic or character study route, know that Miyuki is my favorite character, and any focus on how his brain works is the best way to cater to me.

Canon-wise, I've only seen the anime, and would actually prefer to receive a gift for this fandom that isn't very closely tied to canon events. It's been a while since I've seen the series, so I'm more attached to the characters than to specific events.
The thing I love most with Abe and Mihashi is how unerringly good they are for each other -- they've each suffered strain in their pasts and they help each other grow and move on from those struggles over the course of the series. I love seeing their individual points of strength and how they've improved themselves. For some scenario ideas...
-Any unfamiliar non-baseball situation where Mihashi gets worked up/nervous and Abe works to calm him down.
-Good dom Abe -- with or without actual sex, but a romantic iteration of Abe calling the shots for Mihashi's comfort, so that Mihashi can rely on him and relax.
-Domestic, caretaking scenarios in general.
-Any AU where Abe is in a protector role relative to Mihashi. The fantasy AU with prince Mihashi and his knight-protector Abe, or the sci-fi AU with Mihashi actively troubleshooting in a VR environment while programmer Abe directs him. Abe and Mihashi in space. Abe and Mihashi learning magic together. I just really love AUs, I will love it if you give me a cute abemiha AU!
-These prompts are basically all subtly shippy and I will love them for romance, but direct them in a more gen route if that's more to your comfort.
Samurai Flamenco
Canon-wise, I've watched the entire anime, and consider any canon knowledge you have to be fair game. Throw whatever at me. I consume bits and pieces of the supplemental canon as it's presented to me, so if you reference any of that, that's totally cool.
I'm asking for Soichi and Kaname, who are just less popular characters overall when compared to the series powerhouse that is Masayoshi and Goto. In canon, Kaname's mentor relationship with Masayoshi gets a lot of screentime, but he was Soichi's mentor first -- Soichi has been following Kaname for ten years, longer than any other Flamenger. He lives in a room lacking for real furniture but stuffed with Red Axe merchandise. This man is nearly thirty years old, but Kaname and heroism are his entire life. This is fascinating to me.
If you want to write something more platonic/gen with their mentor/student relationship, that will happily satisfy me, but what will truly make my day is the hero worship with a side of romantic longing or sexual frustration. For some ideas...
-Soichi and Kaname working together/interacting at the start of their mentoring relationship.
-Soichi and Kaname working together post-series on their new tokusetsu show.
-Anything with Soichi attempting to process the complication that is his feelings of devotion and loyalty to Red Axe, bonus points for his making some kind of awkward, heartfelt confession, or just a bonus for awkwardness overall.
-Kaname being romantically dedicated to his wife but giving Soichi some form of emotionally-removed pity fuck.
-If you like AUs, the one in which disenfranchised-as-a-celebrity Kaname starts frequenting the stream of camwhore Soichi, bonus points for their interaction being more about having someone admire Kaname again than about anything sexual Soichi might do on camera.
-Also if you like AUs, a CRIME AU featuring mob boss Kaname and the right-hand man Soichi who will jump at his every order, any of the rest of the Flamengers can come too, if you care to write them.
-Pretty much any AU where Soichi is in a subordinate position to a Kaname with power to exercise, I love power differentials.
The Wire
Canon-wise, I've watched all five seasons, though it's been a couple years since I did so. I feel due for a rewatch, but likely won't be able to do/finish that before yuletide. Anything in canon is fair game, this is more a disclaimer that as this is the fandom I'm most rusty on, my thoughts on it are likely the least focused.
So, some very vague prompt suggestions, feel free to disregard these entirely. Like I said in my signup, Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale's relationship is interesting to me for all of the facets it holds -- there's a great deal of trust between them, and a closeness, in spite of the macho, tough guy, show no weakness atmosphere they operate in. I just want to see them being the street-savvy, ruthless men that they are:
-Something set when Barksdale and Bell were young and just starting out.
-Something focusing on the sacrifices each of them has made.
-Something examining/related to the ways Stringer Bell was trying to better himself.
-A time they were both in serious danger for their lives but got each other out of it.
-Write them having sex. Just straight up show me how these two men would fuck and not lose their manliness cred, because I would enjoy that.
The Good Wife
Canon-wise, I've watched the first five seasons. I don't really intend to keep up on season six during the fall season/intend to binge-watch it sometime after yuletide, so if you can avoid spoilers for the most recent season, that would be amazing. Everything else is fair game.
I'm not very interested in AUs for this fandom. I'd really just like to see Eli and Peter in the context of their canon relationship. Like I said in my signup, Eli Gold is pretty much hands-down my favorite character on The Good Wife. I love how capable he is at his job, how skilled he is at multitasking and overseeing and doing damage control. I would read fic about Eli Gold doing pretty much anything, but ideally I'd like to see something focusing on his devotion to Peter.
I don't have good prompt scenarios for this. I just want to see Eli looking after Peter, professionally and personally, and if you feel like taking that a sexual route I will come right along with you, but I also don't see it becoming something romantic -- Peter has his marriage and Eli has his work but there are ways in which they could sort out something mutually beneficial. In that same vein and on a more platonic note, anything featuring negotiation of boundaries between them -- such as with how far Eli pries into Peter's life -- would be really great. I find that kind of construction of a social relationship to be really fascinating.
Anyway, in closing, I always have a lot to say and a whole profusion of suggestions, but when it comes down to it my real priority is always seeing something about the characters I've asked for. I request specific characters because I really love one or more of them and love their relationship(s) to each other in canon, so as long as you write something true to these fictional people, I'm sure I'll love it!
And also TL;DR things that will win my heart are interesting AUs, curious domestic situations, and examinations of the balance of power between people, whether it be a hefty difference in power, or just how two people with similar levels of influence in their relationship balance each other out.
